Dear Parker: Sorry About Dinner

Dear Parker: Sorry About Dinner

My Dearest Parker,

Today was a whirlwind of emotions, a storm that swept through our home with all the force of a hurricane. As I stood there, watching you react to the dinner I had prepared with such hope and anticipation, my heart sank with each convulsion, each cry of distress. Your words, though fueled by frustration, pierced through me like daggers, leaving me grappling with a mix of emotions I could hardly comprehend.

But amidst the chaos, amidst the tears and the turmoil, there was a glimmer of hope – a ray of light that shone through the darkness. As you lay there, exhausted from the battle of wills, I made a decision – a decision to try something different, something unexpected. And so, with trembling hands and a heart heavy with uncertainty, I reached out to you with the simplest of gestures – a tickle.

Oh, how the sound of your laughter, once so scarce, filled the room like music to my ears! In that moment, as your laughter mingled with mine, a weight lifted from my shoulders, replaced by a sense of overwhelming gratitude and love. For in that moment, I realized that amidst the chaos and the tears, there is always room for laughter, for joy, for love.

My dear Parker, I may not always get it right, but tonight, I am proud – proud of myself for staying calm in the face of adversity, proud of you for finding the strength to laugh amidst the storm. And so, as we navigate this journey together, know that my love for you knows no bounds, and that I will always be here, ready to weather any storm that comes our way.

With all my love and understanding,

Mom

P.S. I won't ever make you Lemon Chicken and Pasta Again
